We're licensed and insured, rated 5.0 on Google, and we'll tell you if a repair makes more sense than a new system. Call or text 615-601-0591.

Heat Pump, Gas Furnace, or Both?

Heat pumps are popular in Middle Tennessee because one system heats and cools, and our winters are mild most of the time. A gas furnace gives stronger heat during the cold snaps we do get. Many homes use both: a heat pump for most of the year with a gas furnace as backup. If you already have gas, all three are on the table. If you don't, a heat pump is usually the simpler choice. We'll explain the trade-offs for your house, not a generic one.

What We Look At Before Recommending a System

  • How the house actually feels now: hot rooms, cold rooms, humidity

  • Ductwork and return air, because new equipment on bad ducts won't fix comfort

  • Attic insulation

  • The gas line and venting if you're keeping or adding gas heat

  • The electrical service, especially in older homes

  • Whether your air conditioner should be replaced at the same time so the indoor and outdoor parts match

Installation in Hermitage, TN

Many Hermitage homes off Old Hickory Boulevard, Lebanon Pike and Central Pike date from the 1970s and 1980s and are on their second or third system. We see a lot of homeowners there moving from an older AC and furnace to a heat pump, or replacing an aging heat pump with a properly sized one. As your Hermitage HVAC contractor, we'll quote the AC, heat pump or furnace you actually need, not the biggest one.

Installation in Donelson (Nashville 37214)

Donelson's older brick ranches along Lebanon Pike and McGavock Pike often have tight attics, crawl space ducts and gas furnaces that have outlived a couple of air conditioners. We check the ducts, gas line and venting before recommending a new furnace or heat pump.

Furnace Replacement in Old Hickory

In Old Hickory's village homes, the challenge is usually fitting good equipment into small closets, crawl spaces and ductwork that was added later. In newer homes near the lake, it's more often a straight swap of aging equipment. Either way, we'll look before we quote.

What Installation Day Looks Like

We confirm the plan with you, install the equipment, start it up and test it in heating and cooling. Before we leave, we show you how to use the thermostat and what filter it takes.

Installation FAQs

Can I keep my existing ductwork?

Often, yes, if it's in decent shape and sized for the new system. If it isn't, we'll tell you what needs fixing.

Should I replace my AC and furnace at the same time?

If both are older, usually yes, so the system is matched. If one is fairly new, we may not need to replace it.

Do you install all major brands?

Yes, we install furnaces, air conditioners and heat pumps from all major brands.

Do you offer financing?

Yes, on new systems, subject to credit approval. Call or text and we'll walk you through it.
