Old Hickory HVAC: Heating and Air Conditioning Repair

Old Hickory is one of a kind on Nashville's east side, and a lot of its homes are older houses that need an HVAC company that knows how they were built. Donelson-Air LLC is a family-owned heating and air company based nearby in Donelson. We've served the area for about 25 years. Call or text 615-601-0591.

Serving Old Hickory and the 37138 Area

We work throughout Old Hickory: in the historic village with its early-1900s homes, around Rayon City, along Old Hickory Boulevard and Robinson Road, and in the neighborhoods near Old Hickory Lake and the dam. Many of the original village homes were never designed for central air. Adding or updating heating and cooling in these houses takes care, from finding room for ductwork to making sure the electrical service can handle new equipment.

Older homes have character, but they can be tricky to heat and cool. We can help with:

Replacing aging equipment with properly sized, efficient systems
Heat pumps, which provide both heating and cooling and work well in many older homes
Duct repair and duct cleaning for old, leaky or dusty ductwork
Insulation in attics that may have very little
Natural gas piping for new furnaces, water heaters or ranges

We'll look at your house, explain your options, and recommend what makes sense for your home and budget.

Lakeside Humidity and Your HVAC System

Homes near Old Hickory Lake and the Cumberland River can deal with extra humidity in the summer. An air conditioner that's oversized, low on refrigerant or short on airflow won't remove moisture well, leaving your home cool but clammy. We check refrigerant, airflow and system sizing to make sure your AC is controlling humidity as well as temperature.

Old Hickory HVAC FAQs

Can you add central air to an older Old Hickory home?

Often, yes. Depending on the layout, options include a ducted system routed through the attic or crawl space, or a heat pump setup that needs less ductwork. We'll assess your home and explain what will work.

Why does my house feel damp even with the AC on?

That usually points to an oversized system, low refrigerant, or an airflow problem. We can diagnose it and recommend a fix.

Do you test for gas leaks?

Yes. We test natural gas lines and repair leaks. If you smell gas, leave the home first and call your gas utility or 911 from outside.

Do you serve nearby areas?

Yes. We also serve Hermitage, Madison, Mount Juliet, Donelson and Nashville.
